Hi, I’m Tyler! I am a child, adolescent, and family therapist completing my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling through St. Bonaventure University. Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, I worked in schools and at community-based mental health agencies. In my time as a behavior support specialist at an elementary school, I recognized a particular interest in helping children ages 3-10 find ways to healthily process their “big feelings” and learn tools to cope and thrive. As someone who has lived experience with ADHD, I am passionate about advocating for the needs of children who require extra support in their home and school settings. I am a neuro-affirming clinical intern and have experience working with individuals who have autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, as well as individuals who have other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As a parent myself, I take joy in helping families build meaningful attachment and caregivers find ways to promote their child’s development. In addition to supporting children with emotional regulation and school-related concerns, I also have a special interest in supporting youth with problematic sexualized behaviors and in working with boys who may be struggling with porn addiction or other risky and impulsive sexual concerns. It can be hard to know where to turn in a time of struggle and I deeply value family and caregiver partnerships when working with sensitive situations.
As an intern I receive regular supervision from child and adolescent therapists including a registered play therapist (RPT). I work on a team of phenomenal therapists who are experts in the field of child, adolescent, and family therapy. I assure you that you and your child will be receiving a high level of quality care. To make therapy affordable and to meet the needs of the community I charge an intern rate between $20-$60 per session. I look forward to partnering with you and your child!
